The Economics
Michael’s solar system is connected to his home’s main service panel where it back-feeds electricity to Midwest Energy and Communications via the two party’s 10 year net metering agreement. By the end of their 10 year agreement the initial cost of the solar system will be recovered and Michael can renegotiate a contract for the several years of life left in the solar panels.
